This channel is designed to bring medical preparedness to UA-cam. I hope to use my experience as a critical care flight paramedic, reserve deputy sheriff, and tactical medic to help first responders and civilians alike implement evidence based medical care, select gear, and gain insight into EMS and law enforcement.

Переглядів 207 тис.3 місяці тому

Just not going to aspirate?
For the most part you want your tourniquet to be thick. But a parametric at my department made a tourniquet using a handful of large zip ties for her dad after a tractor accident. Small items do work as long as you use them right and use multiple of them.
Knife, scissors???
Big black tape, all the big black tape.
Back blow were not done correctly...Should show how to do them correctly.
Love that you used a real baby, esp to show how to position the head.
So helpful! Thanks.

I’m planning to become an EMT so this channel has been perfect for studying! Thank you for helping out!
Thanks for the vidéo. Why is the +1 TQ applied 2-3inch above, instead of directly beside the Original? Tks
Great video, thank you.
So far this is one of the best info demonstrated channels out there great content
Isn't The Cutting Edge the bleeding edge..😂
I just got one about a week ago using FSA money I was going to lose. When I got it I was very suprised with how much was in it and was pretty impressed. But I did have to reorganize the pack to make everything make sense to where everything is located. I also had to drastically lighten the load of how much of each item I carried in it. Being in first response I learned for me personally I like to keep my kit light cause having everything under the sun is useless if you can’t find it, know how to use it, or even if you can’t get it out of the pockets cause there’s so much crap in there. I’m keeping the extra stuff as a backfill incase I use anything but if your like me and you know what works for you, and know how to use the stuff in here then I think this can be great for a first responder to carry. I got the Medic Sidekick that I carry EDC and the Medic bag would be more for if there was a active shooter or casualty situation in my area, I just keep it at my house
Are there ANY packs similar to the 15L that have a dedicated CCW panel/pocket that you can suggest? I've been searching for a 15-18L pack for short day hikes that has one. Can't find any!
What is a etc02 of 1 mean please
Stud!
The one thing I really miss about EMS is the cronyism , and the the 'little pecker syndrome " that some bosses have because they're a washed up ex cop that didn't make it past their probation, @/or they are all ass-hurt over the fact that the couldn't get into the military, or if they did, they couldn't get into a combat MOS.
Man what a GREAT video. Train with what you will be using in the field. Dont just stick it in your bag and forget it!
In my crew we been using tampons and saran wrap for decades 💪🏻
Well your crew has been practicing bad medicine for a long time 🤷♂️
Walmart you can get a meter with 25 strips and lancet for under 10$
Honey under the tounge has saved my life .. i hit 29.
Im type 1D honey is a monosacharide. Already digested so your body skips that process and hits faster. Saves lives..
You should have a min. Of 4 in each set up or rig.
Temu.. 3$ a piece.
Yeah…. Don’t do that.
@@PrepMedic why. I have about 10 in each rig. I have tested the use and quality. They are fine. Give me one reason not too. I'm listening
@rsurdyk huge failure rates at the buckle, no quality control, inferior manufacturing to name a few. These are counterfeit products that have cost lives. Your “testing” doesn’t tell you anything, you don’t even know if you reached occlusion pressures. Beyond that TQs such as the real CAT are one time use. Meaning that if you test even a real CAT you have potentially degraded it for a second application. The same can be said for Chinese knockoffs except your chance of failure is much higher.
@PrepMedic I've spent my life from 18 on in Sars, mountain rescue, swiftwater rescue, I've tested a few at buckle. Windlass, I've had zero failures. To see companies charge ridiculous prices, from meals to equipment, if one was to fail I can still use the strap. I'm not paying 30$ a piece. When people stop being so proud and charging stupid prices I'll take the chance. Even my expensive ones were made in China. Rhino rescue and others. China
@PrepMedic I'd never use a tq twice once tested it was tossed. I don't reuse any medical tools I don't have an autoclave so scissors are tossed too. Or used in fishing box
A resident moonlighting had this done and accidently severed the left carotid artery. The patient died on the table, and he was sued.
How would You Yourself, being an EMT -B Certified ParaMedic, aid and assist Former Army 18D( Special Forces Medical Sergeant) , Navy SARC ( Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman) , Air Force ParaRescue Jumper, and even Medics in the Conventional Forces : Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, that, want to do something " High Speed, Hard Core, Low Drag" , like a SWAT Team Medic, Search and Rescue, or Tactical Medic in Federal Law Enforcement?
Good one. Really good.
so if a person who got their arm or leg cut off or shot or gashed and has major arterial bleeding, i would proceed to check to make sure they are breathing properly and then go ahead and apply the tourniquet 2-3 inches above the wound but my question is would it be bad to pack the wound after applying the tourniquet? like if it was a large gash or a GSW would it be bad to pack the wound with quick clot gauze and wrap it up with gauze after packing just to insure the bleeding stops? and if the forearm or hand is cut off would it be bad to wrap it up with gauze? i’d assume it wouldn’t be bad to do it
A slight difference is over in the UK we use Mmols so it’s a different measurement, milking the finger is the technical term here as per my daughters endocrinologist and with the gulcagon there is an updated system which works like an Epipen called an Ogluo pen which uses glucagon without having to mess about and is available in Europe and UK and reading about them they are looking to expand into the USA made by a company called Xeris Pharmaceutical Sam putting 1st rate info out as usual great video 🍻
I was NOT prepared for that thermometer joke Lmao
Sir may I know what brand of the speaker siren sir
What if the baby talk I'm okay what is the next step?...
Where can I purchase a prepmedic patch or apparel?
I love the adventure medical kits, for the money they’re a great value and packed well to deal with common non-traumatic injuries. I frequently find myself using them even at home
Our medical system is run by goblins and ghouls... God speed out there fellow healers ✌🏻👼🏻🤟🏻
Hi, iam diabetic first type And serving on Ukraine miltary..Its hard but posible.
Awesome video. Could you do a vid that explains how a civilian with TCCC training assist on site or FR on scene. Maybe scenario based. Happening upon MVA, mass sh**tr casualty, LE engagement , etc. I travel with a active "medic go-bag" based on your advice. Whats the protocol for interacting with FR or LE in situations under high stress. What are the expectations from agency players?
The entire medical community is a joke. If you're going to reference them, you should also demand that covid masks, tests and ©Pfizor injections belong in every first aid kit and water supply. You are a clown.
I love the hard rock music! 🤘🏽 Make it heavier!
It’s nice to see someone that know what’s is talking and is evidence base ☺️
I just signed up for a stop the bleed class. Watching this helped get me ready.
Great mustache. Almost looks as great as my Lifeguard stash… Thanks for the lecture, keep cranking them. Don’t except to get paid for this, if so… stop looking to get rich doing such.
So if you place a chest seal on someone, do you ALWAYS have to end up burping in? If you have a vented chest seal I could see why not, because I think its supposed to do it for you. But lets say you dont have a vented chest seal, when do you burp it? And for how long?
I love how fast these are. We used to have to make a “flutter valve” for SCW. It was not the best, but it was our best option at the time. Definitely need to add these to the IFAK.
If we can't monitor or can't recognize the signs (not a paramedic, not a doctor, no equipment), is it a good idea every often to burp it regardless?
P229 i gotta P228
I could have used this info at my highschool graduation 😞
